Memory Box

This is also a first for me and i've had this box sitting in my craft room for well over a year. i liked the idea of decorating it but was never altogether sure what with. Well needless to say i found something. Again it is from a scraps of darkness kit.

It is meant to be a memory box so the top is filled with little trinkets from possible gatherings and outings, a playing card, a penny, a tiny pot of gold chips, flowers film reel, and loads more.

I wanted some little hearts to go into the tiny jar but couldn't find any that would fit. but i do have three more jars so maybe i'll come across some for the next project.

I made it look like there was a lock on the side and there is a small key on top that should look like it will fit the lock, I've tried to make it look like it old and has maybe been recovered or restored many times. there is three layers of paper that has been distressed a lot!!!

The papers and some of the embellishments used are from bo bunny the weekend market range the are brill for this ooldie worldie kind of look and distress really well.

I didn't do alot with the inside, i put some stenciling on the base, and then put this distressed piece on the inside of the lid.

Brownies

This picture of Em was taken by her Brownie leader, matched up with these papers really well. i tried to do a ripped effect as though your looking through the paper at the paper under neath. not 100% sure that i'm having desired effect. the doily in the back ground is from maya road.

Again i got the butterflies downloaded from the scraps of darkness members page, printed them off and cut them out. Very summery!!

Chalk Castle

Because you get sooooo much craftie goodies from "scraps of darkness" i do try to used all the goodies provided. However not always in the right order. So if you are a scraps of darkness member i do apologise as you may be thinking which kit is that then? I often come back to some from months before. I used one of the martha stewart deep edge punches for the black edging in the back ground.

Afternoon Tea

This layout was also made with the lovely "scraps of darkness" kit, i though this picture from outside Chalk Castle went really well with the papers, This was the first time the i used resistant canvasses from Prima, i was quite impressed with the way the patterns appeared as the canvass dried. the lettering is from websters pages. I absolutely love their lettering. really makes a page and doesn't look forced.

A Fishy Tale

This has to be one of my favourite layouts to date, Its made again from a kit from "scrap of darkness" the papers are bo bunny. I'm still loving the tiny pics, and think its great to be able to add a few from that lead up to the main picture.

I printed the butterflies off and cut them out, again due to the lovely ladies at "scraps of darkness". I distressed the page simply by tearing the shape out and inking the edges. Then crinkling and scuffing the edges once they are stuck down.

The tickets are from tim holtz, the pictures are taken at a lovely place in wales called logger heads. its a lovely place to take the kids and dog for a walk. With lots of trails and interesting bits of out door works around that make for very arty photos.

Mini Book "Shone Adventures"

Well after a much detailed house move and various other life dramas! I am back! and although i couldnt up dated my blog i did manage to do a little crafty work.

This i a tiny book i made, i useda kit from "scraps of darkness" the papers are from glitz design and the flowers and gems from prima. It was tricky to work out how to get the square pieces of chip board to actually sat together. In effect i was trying to bind them. However this did take a few attempts!! haha.

I found a great in store photo developing machine, you could actually get your photos done in miniture all the way upto extra large! Brill cos it was then and there can not to expensive!! In BOOTS!!

I used the lettering send to me from the kit and the gem leaves are from ZVA. Some bo bunny noteworthy kit in there to :0)

There is 4 pages to the mini book in all, not too bad to for my first attempt. Thanks for looking. :0)
